I write books and drink tea.
Hey folks! I'm Beth. Apparently I'm a "Wattpad Sensation" and "The Dickens of the iPad Generation" - but if you ask my family, they'll just tell you I'm a big nerd.
I'm from South Wales, and a 21-year-old BSc Physics graduate from Exeter University.
I always loved writing, and started to write more when I was given an old laptop at age 11. When I was fifteen, I penned my YA romance novel The Kissing Booth, and began uploading it to story-sharing platform Wattpad, where it accumulated over 19 million reads.
I was picked up by Random House UK at the age of seventeen, and offered a three-book deal, whilst completing my A Levels (in French, Spanish, Maths and Physics).
I've been listed as one of Time Magazine's Top 16 Most Influential Teenagers 2013, as well as being number six on The Times 'Top 25 Under 20' in summer 2014.
So far, my published books are:
I'm currently represented by Clare Wallace at
the Darley Anderson Literary Agency.
I have been shortlisted for several awards:
In 2013 I was awarded the Scout’s Birthday Honours badge for writing.
In July 2014 I had the brilliant opportunity to speak on a panel at the first ever UK YA Lit Con (YALC) as part of London Film and Comic Con. I was on the 'I'm Too Sexy For This Book' panel, with James* (*Juno) Dawson, Cat Clarke, and Non Pratt, talking about sex in Young Adult fiction.
Other notable events have included: the TEDxTeen Conference, and WIRED UK's Next Generation eventin October 2014. I was also the Guest Youth Curator at Exeter's Children's Literary Festival (Exetreme Imagination). Find out more about these onmy events page.
Also about me: I play the flute, I love reading, Pinterest, and Disney movies. Plus the usual Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings...
